AlenMed Promotion SIA presents Dianatal®: unique obstetric gel to facilitate natural birth

April 2, “Victoria” Business Centre, Minsk: Scientific and practical conference for obstetricians-gynaecologists hosted by AlenMed Promotion company took place. The conference was dedicated to the system of changes in natural childbirth facilitation, particularly, to ways of making natural childbirth easier and safer.

This conference was the first event at which AlenMed Promotion presented an innovative achievement in the area of childbirth facilitation by Happy Child Birth company – Dianatal® obstetric gel. This is the only licensed obstetric gel specifically intended to facilitate natural childbirth worldwide. In 2002, Dianatal received European patent; market launch took place in 2007.

The conference was opened by the head of Happy Birth Child association, expert-obstetrician Dr. Andreas Schaub. Dr. A. Schaub presented the results of experimental and clinical trials of the product and its unique properties.

Clinical trials that were conducted in a series of clinics in Switzerland and Germany with participation of leading experts in the obstetric fields confirmed that Dianatal obstetric gel reduces friction in the birth canal, which is the cause of labour delay, reduces pain and provides protection from perineum and birth canal lacerations. Owing to such action, Dianatal ensures reduction of the 2^nd stage of labour by 30%, reduces overall labour time by 30%, and halves the incidence of perineum / birth canal lacerations in primiparous women. Dr. Schaub stressed out that the use of Dianatal obstetric gel contributes to overall reduction of birth time, reduces traumatism in both mother and child, saves energy of the infant, and helps improve the woman’s birth experience.

Special emphasis was placed upon such product properties as sterility, hypoallergenicity, bactericidal action, and absence of preservatives / latex.

After the presentation, the attendees to the conference used the opportunity to undergo a special “hand-wash test”, in which the viscosity of Dianatal obstetric gel was felt by tactile sensation and its mechanism of action was clearly visible.

As Dr. Andreas Schaub noted, “Today, Dianatal is represented in 17 countries of Western and Eastern Europe, including Switzerland, Germany, Austria, United Kingdom, Italy, Greece, Poland, the Balkans and Baltic states, Ukraine, and Belarus. Launch of Dianatal in Russia and the USA is planned for the nearest future. This is a confirmation of deep trust in quality and beneficial properties of the product on the part of international experts”.

Leading obstetricians-gynaecologists from the cities of Minsk and Vitebsk shared their experience: Candidate of Medical Science, associate professor at Obstetrics and Gynaecology Board under BelMAPO Medical Academy Marina Tesakova; Candidate of Medical Science, Chief of Obstetric Aid Dept. at Minsk 3^rd Clinic, Natalia Odintsova; Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology Board under Vitebsk Medical University, Irina Arestova. Dianatal obstetric gel was used in practice at several clinics during March, 2010.

“It is very important that emergence of Dianatal obstetric gel in Belarus is also of social significance, which means improvement of women’s life standard. I would like to particularly emphasise emotional aspect directly related to this product’s unique properties. First of all, it changes the way women perceive childbirth: more trust in natural process and assuredness of easy and safe outcome for both mother’s and child’s health are guaranteed”, Assoc. Prof. Marina Tesakova noted.

“Based on my own observations, I can confirm that the duration of 2^nd period of labour is reduced owing to the application of Dianatal obstetric gel, which ensures protection of the patient’s pelvic floor and perineum. This helps avoid undesired consequences related to dysfunctional disorders in the future”, Chief of Obstetric Aid Dept. at Minsk 3^rd Clinic, Ms. Natalia Odintsova commented.

The session was concluded by the presentation delivered by Candidate of Medical Science, Obstetrician-Gynaecologist, Managing Director of “Sona-Pharm” LLC, Ostap Kupnovitsky. According to him, “Dianatal obstetric gel has become a rather frequently used product at leading obstetric clinics in Ukraine. Currently, it is included into a package of compulsory means of obstetric aid at top clinics that render these services on a paid basis.”

Dianatal® is used to facilitate natural childbirth in both primiparous and multiparous women.
